I once marched angry streets

On pointed stilts,

Rattling face,

Shaking fist,

Bowling my head through

Crowded innocents.

But then I met you–

A clean lens through which

I spied a better life.

I took your path and it

Made me better.

I am still a clumsy fool,

No stanger to my rotten temper.

But however I falter

Or lose my head,

I have you,

Safe in our room,

Rain on the roof,

To stumble to.
